Zallman is a Chicago artist whose 50-year art career art has focused on sculpture and drawing. Since 2004 she has used plastics in her sculpture and as inspiration for her drawings. Her art works shed light on the environmental devastation caused by our culture of consumerism. She has shown locally and nationally. “What We Leave Behind,” was a survey of works from 2018-2024 at OS Projects, Racine WI. She received a 2022 Puffin Foundation grant, Illinois Arts Council grants in 2021, 2021, 1985, 1982, and 1980 and an Artist Grant from Chicago’s Dept. of Cultural Affairs in 2019. Her residencies include the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, and Ragdale.
